Demolition Derby Registration

4, 6 + 8 CY. Car, Mini Van, Small Truck (2 wheel drive only)

RULES AND REGULATIONS - READ CAREFULLY

 A. EACH DRIVER MUST FILL OUT THE ENTRY FORM. Entries limited to residents of Franklin County and adjoining county residents only.

B.  ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS MUST BE OBSERVED. Track operators or promoters reserve the right to approve or reject any and all entries.

C. ONLY OWNERS, DRIVERS OR MECHANICS, will be permitted in the pit area or on the track.

D. ENTRY FEE: This covers driver only. $20.00 (NO REFUNDS). The entry fee must be cash or money order. NO PERSONAL CHECKS.

E. NO CARS permitted on the track before being called out by the officials.

F. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES allowed in the pit area.

G. NO DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE; any drivers that are drinking will be disqualified.

H. TIRES MUST BE STOCK SIZE: 4ply only, no inner liner, no truck tires, no studs in tires, up to 5 lug wheels, no lift kits

I. NO ANTIFREEZE ALLOWED in the vehicles.

J. NO WELDING except two (2) half dollar size welds on the driver’s door.

K. NO passengers will be allowed in the vehicle while on the grounds of the fair.

L. This event is done AT YOUR OWN RISK! - Fair provides no insurance for injury or damage to any vehicles.

 DRIVERS ENTRY

 1. DRIVERS MUST BE 18 YEAR OF AGE.

2. ALL DRIVERS MUST SUPPLY THEIR OWN CARS. (Except for vehicle raffle)

3. REGISTRATION CHECKIN IS AT 4 p.m. / unless otherwise noted.

4. ALL DRIVERS must enter & check in their own car.

5. ANY DRIVERS NOT OBEYING THE RULES WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

6. ALL DRIVER’S MUST ATTEND THE DRIVER’S MEETING before the event - time/location announced at registration.

7. Please bring paint to registration so that your number can be added to both sides of your vehicle. Paint the numbers in large, bright, and contrasting colors. Folks wishing to obtain your vehicle number before arrival will need to contact Steve Lilly at 207-320-1144.

 PARTICIPATING REGULATIONS

 1. Stock hardtop automobile or station wagon is allowed. NO diesels - NO hybrid or electric vehicles - NO 4 wheel drive or all wheel drives (one shaft must be removed)

  • ALL GLASS, CHROME TRIM, BUMPER COVERS or anything that might become loose or protruding must be removed from the car before bringing the vehicle to the fairgrounds. (Help us keep the grounds safe for everyone to use.)

  • Cars must be cleaned out, including the trunk.

  • Remove all vehicle tire weights from all tires. (These will get stuck in the track)

  • Please remove all broken glass from the windows to help avoid pieces of glass being left on the track.

  • Vehicles in the derby MUST have a windshield.

  • A maximum of three (3) gallons of gasoline will be allowed. Gas tanks may be moved to the trunk but will not be allowed in the driver’s compartment unless covered by a firewall.

  • Only one (1) stock car battery will be allowed. If the battery is moved, it must be covered and secure.

  • NO REINFORCEMENTS OF ANY KIND WILL BE ALLOWED (trailer hitches must be removed)

  • SAFETY BELTS AND HELMETS are required. (Put a rope or strap behind the driver’s seat, below the headrest to keep the seat from tipping back.

  • Drivers may MANEUVER FORWARD OR BACKWARD

  • Drivers doors should be painted WHITE - NO DELIBERATE head on or ramming of driver’s door.

  • A time limit will be set by the judges. If a driver does not hit a live car within the time limit, this can lead to disqualification. (DO NOT PLAY POSSUM)

  • Do not weld or bolt hoods or trunks down. (Use wire to hold them closed.)

  • A 12x15” hole must be cut in the hood of the vehicle to help extinguish any fires.

  • Anything or vehicle vehicle deemed unsafe may be turned away.

  • ***Additional requirements for vehicle safety may be imposed by the judges if needed.***

2. The derby will be composed of individual heats and features with cash prizes going to each heat winner and to the grand prize feature winner. Features will be comprised of winners and runners up from each heat when the show is a single derby event. Features will be composed of the winner of each heat when there are two or more shows.

3. ADDITIONAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS MAY BE IMPOSED by the judges, fair officials, or emergency services. This would likely be depending on the track or other conditions which may change.

4. Rules are subject to change to fit the event.

5. THE DECISION OF JUDGE IS FINAL. (FCAS has Steve Lilly or his designee as the judge, and Steve may have additional judges to help with the event as needed.)

6. ALL DERBY VEHICLES SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE GROUNDS CONCLUDING THE EVENT. Vehicles left without permission from fair officials will be considered to be abandon and will be removed from the grounds. Folks wishing to pickup multiple vehicles should paint their name on the windshield of them to help avoid people stealing your car. ANYONE CAUGHT STEALING VEHICLES or ANYTHING FROM THEM will be kicked off the grounds and referred to law enforcement.
